Окончил философский факультет Томского государственного университета, где в 2002 году защитил диссертацию «Виртуализация опыта в культуре постмодерна: метаморфозы дискурсивного ландшафта». Занимается исследованиями культурной динамики в контексте развития современных технологий. Реализовал целый ряд исследовательских проектов, среди которых «Методология культурной политики» (Университет Дж.Вашингтона, США), «Техно-художественная гибридизация: искусство, наука и технологии (INTAS YSF, Lancaster University, UK), «Искусственный интеллект в социальной робототехнике» (Калифорнийский университет Беркли, США). В 2013 защитил докторскую диссертацию, посвященную философско-методологическим аспектам искусственной жизни («От кибернетических автоматов к искусственной жизни: теоретические и историко-культурные аспекты формирования цифровой культуры»).

Научные интересы: цифровая культура, искусство и технологии, искусственный интеллект, культурная политика, искусственная жизнь.
